Where are your storage facilities?
Oz Moving & Storage maintains two warehouses. Our main facility (175,000 square foot capacity) is located in Hillside, New Jersey. In Manhattan, our facility is located at 159 East 126th Street between Lexington and Third Avenue.
How much will it cost to store my goods?
The monthly storage fee is $.49 per cubic foot volume of goods being stored. There is a $130.00 monthly minimum. This does not include the cost to move goods in or out of storage.
Will I be able to access my goods?
Yes, you will be able to access your goods during our normal business hours (Monday – Saturday). We do require a minimum one day notice and offer our clients a free shuttle from New York to our New Jersey facility.
Is the building secure?
Yes. Foremost, our buildings are not self-storage facilities, therefore no one is in the facility unattended. All buildings are equipped with state-of-the-art security systems, monitored and recorded video surveillance, and sprinkler systems.
Will my goods be protected in storage?
Yes. Your goods are wrapped and secured when they are loaded onto the truck, and the protection remains in place for the duration in storage.
Is there anything I cannot store?
Yes. Food (of any nature), plants, animals, and any item that contains fuel (i.e. motor vehicles and BBQ grills with propane tanks in place). We also suggest that you do not store items such as jewelry, heirlooms, passports, important documents and checkbooks.
I don’t know how long I will be in storage. Do I need to let you know the specific dates?
No. Some of our clients assume their storage rental is like a lease and they may only stay in storage for a specific period of time or that they are obligated to a minimum period (i.e. one year, one month). This is NOT the case. Our storage contracts are perpetual on a month to month basis. You will not be obligated to a specific time frame, nor will we require your goods be moved out after a certain amount of time. There is no penalty for staying in storage longer or shorter than you initially intended.
What are my obligations to Oz Moving & Storage as a storage customer?
It is the client’s responsibility to store only legal, non-hazardous, non-flammable goods; to provide current contact information (address and telephone numbers), including a US person to act as your representative if you are traveling abroad; to make timely monthly payments. We do not cumulatively bill upon removal from storage and suggest that you pre-pay if you are not going to be available while your goods are in storage (i.e. traveling abroad, etc.).
